During this ABLE presentation, Ned demonstrated how ratio and proportion was used to solve a civil engineering word problem. Given the depth and base of a flood channel, Ned modeled how to determine the minimum width of the channel surface disturbance. New vocabulary (channel, hydraulics, disturbance, slope, spoils) was introduced to the students.
