The Alliance for Education is a partnership among business, labor, government, community, and education in San Bernardino County, Southern California. The Alliance represents an unprecedented, evolving commitment of influential leaders in the county who are committed to producing an educated and skilled community that provides a qualified workforce for the continued economic well being and improved quality of life for all residents.

With input provided by over 800 stakeholders from across the county, three system components have emerged and are being implemented in each of the three regions of the county:
- Education
- Family Involvement/Literacy, and
- Economic/Workforce Development
Each carries equal importance in realizing the Alliance's mission to produce an educated and skilled community that provides a qualified labor force in the region. The dynamic relationship that exists between these components hinges on embracing and incorporating the elements of Rigor, Relevance, and Relationships.
Get Involved
Education
- Speakers' Bureau - Partners share with teachers and students the academic skills and understanding required for their industry.
- Field Studies - Students and teachers visit the work site and observe/participate in the application of academics
- Project/Problem-Based Learning - Business/community partners provide a real problem or industry-related project for students to solve in the classroom, increasing students' critical thinking skills.
- Resources and Staff - Donate staff time, monetary and/or non-monetary resources, equipment, or facilities.
Family Involvement/Literacy
- Tutoring - Provide tutoring support to students
- Literacy Support Training - Receive literacy training provided by CSUSB Literacy Center
- AVID Training - Receive training in homework skills, writing, note taking, and inquiry-based strategies provided by AVID staff
- Virtual Pre-K Training - Receive training in school readiness skills for parents of pre-schoolers.
- Reading Buddies - Serve as a volunteer/role model while reading to elementary-age children in your local public school
- Resources and Staff - Donate staff time, monetary and/or non-monetary resources, equipment, or facilities
Economic/Workforce Development
- Job Shadowing - Give students and/or teachers opportunities to "shadow" your employees on the job
- Mentoring - Give support and encouragement to students as they pursue a career path
- Interships - Offer paid/unpaid internships and apprenticeships to students so they can experience workplace roles
- Advisory Committee - Provide information to educators on the skills needed for students to succeed in the workplace
- Business/Industry & Apprenticeship Forums - Assist with or attend a forum that provides information on workforce opportunities, industry sectors, and/or required business/industry/labor skills
- Resources and Staff - Donate staff time, monetary and/or non-monetary resources, equipment, or facilities
- Workforce Training Provider - Be included as one of the Workforce Training Providers on the website.
